Cycling Taiwan

Taiwan is a bicycle-friendly country. Bring your bike here and you would not regret about it. Shorter time you have in Taiwan? no worry, cycling around the city is a good idea as well, the facilities here are all good and in convenience, rental bike are available all around the cities of Taiwan, mostly the first 30mins are free usage. Taiwan also popular for the snacks and night market street's foods. Ride out and try some of it at least, if not all.
The biggest loop around Taiwan is about 935KM, not just the bicycle, people go around with motorbike or car or even by train surrounding the country, the local language pronounce as 'huandao' which mean going around the island. For more challenge, head to the mountain/ national park area such sun moon lake and Alishan.

Foods

Places to go
Although it is a small country, Taiwan surprisingly amazed everyone about the attractions. I'm pretty sure nobody will need me to introduce Taiwan 101, many will fall in love with tarako national park, sun moon lake, or the youth always love Alisan.

Pick of my trip:
Best is heng chun town with the blue fire at night...don's miss it!

Language
Main language is mandarin, locals commonly speak taiwanese (hokkien), and english is widely spoken. During my trip, i didnt get any trouble in communication, of course i do speak mandarin well(by my defination:).

Weather
Winter is December as usual, lots of rain and it was chill. temperature was about 20+,  but because of Taiwan surrounded by the sea, it feel like much lower ya, plus the wind and rain...it could be bad sometimes- be prepared. Rarely happen but when i was there, the weather reported that they had the coldest winter in 100 years(few highland in Taiwan might get snow).

Love it
temperature averaging about 20dc is just great for the cycling. love it much.

Navigation
Google map is working properly, they have great road sign system as well and it both available in chinese and english.

Taiwan by far is one of the bike friendly country, i mean it might be the best so far. you will be safe here, and you wont get lost. no worry, keep going.

Repair and spare
You can get help easily from the local, even the hostel usually have the bike service facility available. You don't need spare here, just remember to drink more water.

Transportation
Speed train and network is really first class, all train including the city subway builded to facilitate bicycle. the price for bike is usually half the price of the passenger. but really, it is first class for the whole country.
